At its monthly luncheon the Oldsmar Upper Tampa Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce announced today their annual Business of the Year Award recipients. Team Lightning (Lightning Technology Group, Inc.) was chosen in the Small Business category as the 2003 Business of the Year. One of the factors for choosing Team Lightning as stated by presenter and the chamber’s Chairman of the Board Jerry Kilty, was the companies’ ability to adjust their business model when facing challenges in their industry. |

Initially founded as a product based company Team Lightning shifted to a service based company focusing on network/IT support and web application development & design. The product model was no longer working, low profit margins, superstores; direct manufacturer sales were among the many challenges. |

Team Lightning's niche is providing IT services to small and medium sized businesses. They created affordable pre-paid support plans that give small businesses access to IT resources rivaling that of Fortune 500 companies. Today Team Lightning provides support services and web development to over 120 West Central Florida businesses. Their entire sales effort is based on providing a continual on-going effort towards complete customer satisfaction, which in turn generates strong customer referrals. |
